Solana unstake countdown
Paste the signature of the transaction that deactivated your stake, or the stake account's address. The page asks the chain which epoch the stake was deactivated in and counts down to the one where it can be withdrawn.
How unstaking on Solana works
Unstaking is two transactions, not one. The first deactivates the stake: from then on it earns nothing new, and it starts cooling down. The second withdraws the SOL, and the stake program refuses it until the cooldown is over.
The cooldown ends on an epoch boundary — normally the first one after the deactivation. Deactivate early in an epoch and the wait is most of an epoch; deactivate an hour before the boundary and it is an hour. The epoch countdown shows where the current one stands.
Questions
Can it take longer than one epoch?
Rarely. The network lets only a share of all stake cool down per epoch, so if an unusual amount is leaving at once the remainder spills into the next epoch. A stake with a lockup also cannot be withdrawn before the lockup ends, whatever the cooldown says — the result above shows one if the account has it.
Does this work for liquid staking tokens?
No. mSOL, jitoSOL and the rest are unstaked through their own pools, on their own schedule. This page reads native stake accounts.
Where do I find the signature?
In your wallet's activity, on the deactivation entry, or on any Solana explorer: it is the long string the transaction page is named by. The stake account address works just as well and is on the same page.
