Solana Summit Serbia 2026

The claim on the door was “Eastern Europe's biggest Solana event”, and the numbers behind it were 1,000+ attendees and 50+ speakers across two days at the Sava Congress Center. It was the fourth year of Belgrade Blockchain Week, and it was free to attend.

The line that explains the room

“No spectators — over half the room are founders and developers actively building.” Whether or not the half is exact, it is the organisers' own framing of what they were selling: not a conference stop, but a working room. Their other line is blunter — “Belgrade isn't a conference circuit stop. People who come here came specifically for this.”

Who was on stage

Four people from the Solana Foundation, among them its head of events and its head of DeFi; Mert Mumtaz of Helius; Vidor Gencel of Solflare; Malisha Stanojevic of Streamflow; core contributors from Kamino, Jito, Marinade and MetaDAO. JetBrains sent the head of its Rust ecosystem.

The part that does not happen at most Solana events

The programme put an Assistant Minister from Serbia's Ministry of Finance on stage for a fireside chat titled “Serbian Financial System on Solana”, and an adviser from the Croatian National Bank on the Internet Capital Markets panel beside the Solana Foundation's CFO. Regulators appearing on a chain's own stage is rare enough to be the reason to read the agenda.

Two ecosystems, one building

ETH Belgrade ran on the same two dates in the same venue, the twin anchors of Belgrade Blockchain Week. A Solana summit and an Ethereum one sharing a roof is not the usual arrangement, and it is the clearest thing this calendar can say about how the Belgrade scene works.
